About US

6E Farm is a small, but ever growing,  Christian family farm nestled in the flint hills of SE Kansas run by my husband and I along with our 4 children.  We've only been out here 4 years, but we love it and hope that our children learn to love it as much as we do.

We are striving to become a self sufficient farm, to raise most of our own meat and eggs and produce from the family garden.  Our ideal goal would be to become totally independent, to get off grid, but we know that may never be totally possible, but we strive to become that way as much as possible.

What We Raise

Our primary focus is our dairy goats.  We have a small but ever growing herd of mixed breed dairy goats consisting of Alpine, Oberhasli, LaMancha, Nubian and Saneen.  All of our goats are registered with the ADGA.  We do offer on the farm sales of raw goats milk for $6 a gallon.  Or $4 for half gallon.

Our other focus is our chickens.  We raise pure bred Marans in Copper Black, Copper Blue, Blue, Splash and Black.  We hope to add Wheaten soon.  Most of our Marans fit the American standard at this time, but we are striving to fit the French standard with an emphasis on egg color.

We also raise purebred Welsummers, full size Cochins and Ameraucanas.  We offer hatching eggs out of each of these breeds and also out of our mixed laying flock.  We offer free range organic brown eggs from our mixed flock for $3 a dozen.  We give our girls a good grain mix along with what they find on their own, including flax seed to raise the Omega 3 fatty acids in the eggs.

We've just started in beautiful Lady Gouldian Finches, Red Factor Canaries and Button Quail.  They are a joy to raise and fill the house with their soft songs.

I am trying to get going on soap and candle making, but as with all things, time always seems to be a factor.  I also love to create bead jewelry with an emphasis on mothers bracelets and watches.  All jewelry is made with gold filled and sterling silver along with either genuine stones or crystals.  Plastic, brass or painted metal is never used unless noted.   I am also learning how to work with wood and that's actually been a lot of fun.  Check the farm store for what is available.

Our Plans For The Future

Besides offering hatching eggs for rare breed chickens, we hope to offer honey and other farm products at the farmers markets this summer.

To be added to our quarterly newsletter that lists what's going on, what we have for sale and other special events, please send us an e-mail with "newsletter" in the subject line and I'll be happy to add you to the list.

Thank you for visiting, we hope you come back soon!
